Mission Statement

In 2017, Turtle Plastics Founder Tom Norton and his wife, Dr. Karen Bradley, established The Turtle Plastics Foundation, a broad-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to advocate, create, support, and promote educational, environmental, health, and safety initiatives worldwide. The Foundation accomplishes this mission through grants, donations, public awareness events, and other marketing efforts.

The Foundation makes distributions to Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c) (3) organizations that support worthy nonprofit causes related to improving public health, education, safety, and the global environment.

Renee Jones Empowerment Center

Renee Jones Empowerment Center is an organization that is unique in providing holistic restorative services for minor and adult human trafficking and sexual assault victims. These victims face many adverse challenges such as physical and emotional abuse, poverty, and addiction. The Center's mission is to empower these individuals to advocate for themselves and to improve their quality of life through personal, social, and professional development. The Center is devoted to preventing human trafficking and sexual exploitation by actively engaging the community in anti-trafficking efforts and educating service professionals, law enforcement, educators, students, parents, and the community on the realities of this growing crime. The TPF team has been a proud supporter for several years because of their ongoing commitment to improving the lives of Northeast Ohio’s most vulnerable.

NaliniKIDS

NaliniKIDS is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring movement and reflection to every child. NaliniKIDS was founded in New York City, serving PK-12 educators and students in the nation's largest school district. All OOPA’S World of Words video content is made available to the public free of charge, and is accessible from both the OOPA’S World of Words website oopasworldofwords.org and YouTube channel youtube.com/@oopasworldofwords. All content within the scope of this project would also be made available free of charge.

National Fallen Firefighters Foundation

National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s mission is to honor America's fallen fire heroes; support their families, colleagues, and organizations; and work to reduce preventable firefighter death and injury. NFF has a variety of support groups and family events. NFF has been a longtime friend of TPF. We are proud to support their dedication to the heroic sacrifice of firefighters and to support the needs of their families.

National Clean Water Collective

The National Clean Water Collective (NCWC) is a registered non-profit grassroots organization that has provided more than $475k worth of vital supplies and support to the residents of Flint, Michigan, Newark, NJ and The Bahamas. We acknowledge the incredible work of NCWC for providing resources for health and safety, social justice awareness, and environmental sustainability.

Signal Ohio

Signal Ohio is a network of independent, community-led, nonprofit newsrooms backed by a coalition of Ohio organizations, community leaders and the American Journalism Project. It’s one of the largest local nonprofit news startups in the country, with newsrooms in Akron, Cleveland, the Statehouse, and Cincinnati. The newsrooms produce high-quality accountability journalism while working directly with residents to produce and distribute community reporting that is free to access and available for republishing. TPF acknowledges the importance of local, non-political reporting and is proud to support their mission.
